The Japanese manufacturer is a world leader in uni-ball pens and already introduced “Uni-ball fusion” new colourless ink from Mitsubishi. China’s pencils and pens manufacturing industry are the world’s largest in term of production and exports. The output of ball point pens and pencils ranks third globally. Internally the market in China is undergoing a major shift as the Chinese move from using cheap pencils to ballpoint pens. China is also progressively becoming a major center of production for all sorts of pens and is increasing its exports as third world countries increasingly shift from pencil to pen usage.
Also China has started to import more writing instrument in the last five years as demand has grown. The sales of writing instruments become stronger, despite the advancement and growth of popularity of PC, Internet, Pads and other such technology. According to Mr. V. W. Mane, CEO of Kores India “The market writing instrument is critical in India in the today’s time, product ranges have been increased and prices gone decreased”. And about Chinese products he emphasizes “China products are cheaper in price while Indian products are the best in quality and Indian market is better than Chinese market”. Conclusively, there is a more dumping of foreign products rather than it’s actual demand.
“There is a big competition among international suppliers and manufacturers and they are gradually increases their productivity, availability due to the depreciation in import duties in India has fallen down from 40% to 15%. China is a product competitor not the quality”, Says, Mr.Rajkumar Vijan, MD of Aarti Writing Instrument P.Ltd.
So it doesn’t effects the dumping of foreign products rather it is reversed for those who are quality conscious. The writing instrument has become the most useful and essential consumable product for everybody in everyday life. With the increase of the market size, smaller businesses can discover and serve particular markets. Today the marketing of writing instrument is very fast and can be implemented immediately.
